Thermal Bonding Methods - Level 1: For Complete Beginners

Duration:

2 day course

Cost:

£900 [+ VAT for UK students]

Many technicians have traditionally trained on a thermal bonding system, whether that be using a special glue-gun or pot to melt down resin which is then used to apply hair extension strands to their clients own or using pre-bonded keratin extensions.

Often referred to as Micro-Bonding, these thermal resin-bonded extensions can be used to add overall length and volume or simply highlight natural hair. They can be worn by clients for up to three months, after which it is advised that clients return to their technician to have them removed and replaced to ensure their natural hair is kept in its best condition.

Course Objective:

This two-day course is designed for complete beginners that have never worked with any thermal bonding system before. By the end of the course you should be confident with your ability to apply pre-bonded keratin extensions and in working with the Glue Gun which will mean you are no longer limited to only working with pre-bonded hair pieces. You should be able to conduct a full client consultation; be able to price your service correctly; order hair in the correct amounts; style and colour; offer your clients complete advice and guidance on what living with extensions will mean to them; how they should care for and maintain their new extensions; and how to safely remove bonded extensions.

2008/08 Sew- on-Weaving – Level 1: For Beginners

Title:

Sew-on-Weaving - Level 1: For Beginners

Duration:

2 day course

Cost:

£750 [+ VAT for UK students]

This course teaches the traditional Sew-on-Weaving technique which is used to add length and volume by applying extension wefts to the client’s natural hair. This technique is not noticeable as the natural hair is braided underneath and cannot be seen. Weaving is a safe technique that does no damage to the client’s own hair, instead protecting it and allowing natural hair growth to continue.

Whilst a full head of weaving is often popular, clients may choose to add only a few rows of weft depending on the desired style.

There are several methods of attaching weaves. The original method, which is still used today, is by corn rowing the entire natural hair or leaving the hairline and nape of the neck loose to cover the weft. The appropriate method of weaving would be determined after assessing the client’s needs through consultation.

Course Objective:

Students completing this course should be competent in the different cornrow styles and when to use them. They should understand differences between various fibre extensions, the different needles and be able to safely apply hair wefts by sewing.
